Nov 12 Documentation | Unplanned

Tutoring

Words: Tonight our cousin Emily came over for a little bit of help with her economics course. Man, it felt good to use my social sciences brain. We worked on GDP, Real GDP, inflation, and CPI. I brushed up a tiny bit with one of my old college textbooks before she came (so glad Jake and I kept most of those), but I was happy to find that I remembered most of it (even though economics is my least favorite of the social sciences). Emily feels prepared for her quiz tomorrow and got a good chunk of her big project done!

What you can take from this:
  • Hand the camera over! Sometimes, to get portraits including myself, I use my camera's self timer. But if it's way easier to ask someone to take the photo for you (my husband Jake is a better photographer than I am, anyway).
  • Write about using your strengths to help someone else. We have tons of helping interactions, and you may not even realize that you are aiding someone with your brilliant talents! This is a great thing to record about YOU.

This is my unplanned documentation for the day. This workshop is about documenting what matters to you, so I'm documenting what inspires me. If you get stuck, try documenting something from the Daily Doc | Nov 2012 handout. It has 30 prompts to use if you get stuck documenting. I'm tackling all the prompts month AND doing unplanned daily documentation.

If you did unplanned documentation today, post a link to it in the comments section!
