Nov 13 Documentation | Unplanned

We got a new lens today! (17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM)

Words: We got a new lens today! (17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM) It's the same lens we rented for Harvey and Lisa's wedding last year, and we're so so happy to have it. No more standing on chairs to take photos of layouts! No more getting in weird and awkward positions because we can't get far enough away from the subject! Hooray! We bought the lens for about half price from Jake's friend Qian, who is an amazing photographer. He upgraded his camera body, and the benefit trickled down to us in a major way.

What you can take from this:
  • Get a photo of you taking photos! Most of us have multiple ways of capturing photos: use your phone, a point-and-shoot, or the camera on your computer to take a picture of you doing your shutterbug thing! If you're in this workshop, documenting through photography is probably a major part of what you do.
  • Make sure to write about your friends and coworkers. They're part of your story too!

This is my unplanned documentation for the day. This workshop is about documenting what matters to you, so I'm documenting what inspires me. If you get stuck, try documenting something from the Daily Doc | Nov 2012 handout. It has 30 prompts to use if you get stuck documenting. I'm tackling all the prompts month AND doing unplanned daily documentation.

If you documented today, post a link to it in the comments section!
