Nov 9 Documentation | Handout

Prompt: What you see on a walk

Guardian Angels Church
Words: One of the prettiest things we see when we take walks is the Guardian Angels Cathedral in our neighborhood. I love the architecture, and I love that we can hear the bells from our house.

Here's what you can take from this:
  • The landscape around you is always changing. Some of the buildings in our neighborhood have been there a hundred years and will stand for a hundred more, some could be torn down tomorrow. Don't forget to document the things you see in your environment everyday, because you'll never know if it will be there in the future (or when you'll move).
  • Don't just focus on the visual with your words. What does your walk smell like? What does it sound like? I love this building because of the way it looks, but I also love the music of the bells.

This is my documentation from the Daily Doc | Nov 2012 handout. It has 30 prompts to use if you get stuck documenting. I'm tackling all of these this month AND doing unplanned daily documentation. I printed out the prompts (pages 2-4 of the handout) and I'm highlighting them to cross them off as I go. I'm not doing them in order; I'm using them as they make sense for me.

  1. Glad you got your internets back up :)
This post just brought back a flood of memories for me. When I lived in TN, I lived next door to a church and across the street from one. I grew up hearing the sound of the bells all through my childhood. But here in S. Florida I couldn't even tell you where the nearest church is. I know they exist here, I have friends who are regular churchgoers. But they're nowhere near as prominent in the neighborhoods here. I feel a compare and contrast LO coming on :)
Thanks for taking off the captchas! You rock.
So I have a question for next month's prompts. Are they going to be general like this month's or holiday related? Just curious if it'll be anything I can use in Dec. Daily. I have DD on the brain listening to the digi show podcast. Good lord I'm wordy today :P

    1. You'll be the first to know, but there will actually be two handouts: a holiday one and an everyday one. The holiday one will be a free download with a newsletter next week (and will be sold as an add-on in the shop for $1 to non-newsletter subscribers) and the everyday one comes with the class. That way everyone doing December Daily can get ideas / keep from being overwhelmed and the folks that don't celebrate / want to focus on everyday stuff can keep trucking on, too.
