Words: After a few super cold weeks, we've been having wonderful warm weather. That means the kids and I have been spending a lot more time outside. I hate that it's getting dark so soon, though. It really puts a damper on the playing, as we don't have a light in our backyard (we should probably get on that).
What you can take from this:
- I mentioned before that I hate using flash (I prefer natural light, or, if there's no natural light, ambiant light from lamps and light fixtures). Flash makes people and things look unnatural and is the cause of many-a red eye in photos. So I stay clear. Sometimes, however, it's use flash or take no photo. You need light to take a photo, and, as is the theme of this workshop it seems, I'd rather capture the memory with a so-so picture than skip the photo because it can't turn out amazing.
- The words are all about how my family's routine is dependent on weather and light. We do very different things when it gets dark much later or when it's very cold or hot outside. Consider documenting how nature effects your life.
This is my unplanned documentation for the day. This workshop is about documenting what matters to you, so I'm documenting what inspires me. If you get stuck, try documenting something from the Daily Doc | Nov 2012 handout. It has 30 prompts to use if you get stuck documenting. I'm tackling all the prompts month AND doing unplanned daily documentation.
